The price of all forms of sulfur imported by China has dropped from CFR 525-1100 US dollars per ton last week to CFR 525-1050 US dollars per ton this week. Among them, the price of granular sulfur has fallen from CFR 1000-1100 US dollars per ton last week to CFR 1000-1050 US dollars per ton.
The drop in the price of imported sulfur indicates that suppliers are accepting the reality of the current low demand levels. However, as producers begin to prepare to the autumn fertilizer preparation season, consumers in South China are expected to restock based on inventories at ports along the Yangtze River coast in September. There is an expectation of a continued decline in sulfur inventories at various ports in China, which will boost the price of the sulfur market. Regarding shipping news, a batch of Middle Eastern cargoes of 50,000 to 70,000 tons has been booked recently, scheduled to delivery to South China in September, however the vessel has not yet passed through the Strait of Hormuz, making it difficult to confirm the specific arrival date.
The price of imported fluid sulfur remains stable at CFR 525-550 per ton. while supply is tight, demand remains sluggish. Due to the limited available supply, no imported fluid sulfur arrived in Shandong region this week.
