Tribological properties: As a filler in thermoplastics, graphite with its plate-shaped structure enables improved friction and wear behavior-(Image: Nippon Graphite Industries).Dreyplas is adding para-aramid powders, specialty graphics, hexagonal boron nitride, and cut carbon fibers from post-consumer recyclates to its engineering and high performance plastics portfolio. The new products will be presented at Fakuma 2026.
Additives to tribological applications
The new para-aramid powder is intended, among other things, to the compounding of thermoplastics. It has a density of around 1.44g/cm³, high temperature and chemical resistance and low thermal conductivity. In plastic compounds, it can contribute to the improvement of tribological characteristics.
Special graphics from Nippon Graphite Industries are also new to the range. The flake, ball and lamellar types are available with particle sizes from 5 to 350 µm and bulk densities between 0.08 and 0.53g/cm³. They are intended to applications where friction and wear are to be reduced.
Mechanical characteristics: Cut carbon fibers as post-consumer recyclate (PCR) are a sustainable and powerful alternative to new goods-(Image: Nippon Polymer Sangyo). With the series "SHOBN-UHP" Dreyplas also offers high purity hexagonal boron nitride. The platelet-shaped powder is available with average particle sizes of 0.7, 8 and 11 µm. It can enhance the sliding characteristics and mold incineration of thermoplastics, and combines thermal conductivity and thermal stability with corrosion resistance and dielectric characteristics.
Carbon fibers of recyclates
The portfolio is complemented by cut carbon fibers from Nippon Polymer Sangyo. Post-consumer recyclates from rotor blades of wind turbines and pressure vessels are applied as starting material.
The fibers are intended to reinforce technical plastics and are intended to minimize the creep tendency and increase dimensional stability and mechanical resilience. The consumption of secondary raw materials is also intended to minimize the proportion of primary carbon fibers in corresponding compounds.
