The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society has appointed Christy L. Haynes, professor at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, as the next editor in chief of Analytical Chemistry. Haynes will begin leading the journal on Jan. 1, 2027.
“I am delighted by the selection of Christy Haynes as the eighth—and first woman—Editor-in-Chief of Analytical Chemistry in the journal’s nearly 100-year history,” Jonathan V. Sweedler, who has led the journal from 2012 to 2026, says in a press discharge. “During her decade of service as an Associate Editor, she has been an outstanding advocate to our authors and reviewers and a thoughtful leader within the journal. I am confident that under her leadership the journal will continue to thrive, expand its reach, and help shape the future of our discipline.”
