Targets rising specialty chemicals demand
Kanoria Chemicals & Industries Ltd (KCI) has commissioned a new 12 metric ton per day (TPD) Triacetin manufacturing facility at its existing plant in GIDC, Ankleshwar.
This, strengthening its specialty chemicals portfolio and expanding its capacity to tap growing domestic and international demand.
The facility was launched in the presence of Saumya Vardhan Kanoria, Whole Time Director, and Sanjay Ojha, Chief of Manufacturing & Projects – Chemical Business.
Triacetin is applied across a wide range of industries, including food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, resins, coatings, plastics and adhesives. KCI said the new unit will cater to customers in both Indian and overseas markets.
"The launch of the Triacetin facility brings a new addition to KCI's specialty chemicals portfolio and enhances our capabilities in value-added items. This new facility will enable us to serve the growing standards of customers across domestic and international markets," Ojha said.
Ojha also thanked the Government of Gujarat and officials to their support in KCI’s development initiatives. The company said it plans to continue adding new manufacturing capacities and expanding existing operations, aligned with sustainable research, inclusive development and its Vision-2030.
KCI operates chemical manufacturing facilities in Ankleshwar, Gujarat; Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh; and Naidupeta, Andhra Pradesh. Its chemical portfolio includes alcohol-based intermediates, phenolic resins and specialty chemicals, with Triacetin now forming part of its expanding value-added product portfolio.
