On October 9th, Wanhua Chemical (600309) announced that the 1.2 million tons/year ethylene Phase II plant at the company's Yantai Industrial Park will suspend production for annual routine maintenance starting from October 10, 2026, with an expected maintenance period of around 60 days.
The announcement showed that in combination with the characteristics of the continuous manufacturing process of chemical companies, this maintenance is a planned preventive shutdown included in the annual plan, aiming to ensure the prolonged safe, stable and efficiently operation of the plant. During the maintenance period, the 1.2 million tons/year ethylene Phase I plant in the same park will maintain healthy production and will not shut down simultaneously. Wanhua Chemical stated that this is a planned routine maintenance, which is expected to have no significant impact on the company's overall production and operation.
According to the company's previously disclosed information, the 1.1 million tons/year MDI plant at the Yantai manufacturing Park completed maintenance at the end of September and was in healthy production in early October, which will not interfere with this ethylene Phase II maintenance.
