The American Chemical Society and Latin American Federation of Chemical Associations have named the 2026 Latin American Women in Chemistry Award winners. The awards, launched in 2021, put the impact of women chemists in Latin America and the Caribbean in the spotlight, recognizing their outstanding research. There are three categories for the awards, aiming to recognize emerging leaders (scientists under the age of 45), leaders in industry, and leaders in academia.
Winners are being recognized during the 37th Latin American Congress of Chemistry and the 31st Peruvian Congress of Chemistry, taking place Oct. 12-15 in Lima, Peru. They will receive at $2,000 cash prize, a certificate in English, and a plaque in Spanish; they also receive professional benefits, such as access to CAS SciFinder, a 1 year of ACS membership, and free registration to an ACS Institute course.
