Stepan Corporation, a leading global manufacturer of specialty chemicals and intermediates, has announced a significant increase in its alpha olefin sulfonate (AOS) production capacity. Through strategic capital investments and process improvements, Stepan has increased its AOS capacity by 25%.

Stepan has the most extensive network of AOS production sites and facilities in North America and continues to expand capacity through strategic initiatives at its facilities in Millsdale, Illinois, Anaheim, California, and Winder, Georgia. These initiatives include targeted capital investments and process improvements that have improved the operational efficiency of multiple plants, resulting in higher capacity, greater flexibility and higher reliability for Stepan's customers.

AOS is also used in the oilfield, agricultural, construction and emulsion polymerization industries.
