Monoethylene glycol (MEG) prices drop in the U.S. amid muted trading activity

Share:

Last week, MEG prices drifted lower in the United States.

An sector source in the U.S. informed a Polymerupdate team member, “U.S. MEG spot prices moved reduce as weaker sentiment in Asian markets continued to weigh on global pricing dynamics. Falling futures values and limited spot market participation reduced buying confidence, with most buyers focusing only on immediate standards. Softer import discussions and muted trading activity further dampened sentiment, keeping downward pressure on U.S. MEG prices throughout the week.”

MEG prices were assessed at 25.00–25.50 cents/lb FOB US Gulf levels, a week-on-week decline of (-2.50 cent/lb).

Meanwhile, in Asia, CFR China MEG prices were assessed at USD 585–590/mt levels, a fall of USD (-10/mt) from the previous week, while CFR Southeast Asia MEG prices were assessed at USD 680–685/mt levels, a week-on-week decline of USD (-20/mt).
