6.82 billion yuan fundraising project lands; Bohai Chemical's acrylic acid unit achieves successful trial run

On June 16, 2026, Bohai Chemical (600800) released the latest progress of the project. The 160,000 tons/year acrylic acid plant implemented by the company's subsidiary, Bohai Petrochemical, successfully completed the one-time trial run. The plant is operating smoothly and has successfully produced high-quality qualified products. The project is now fully ready for official production.

This project is a changed investment project using raised funds from the listed company, with a total investment of approximately 682 million yuan. The successful commissioning of the acrylic acid plant marks the company's official entry into the downstream new materials sector of acrylic acid. The manufacturing layout of the upstream and downstream acrylic acid chain continues to enhance, helping the enterprise enhance the core competitiveness of its new materials sector and entering a new stage of integrated research in high-end new materials.

Regarding manufacturing chain supporting facilities, the 50,000 tons/year superabsorbent polymer (SAP) plant planned and constructed by the company simultaneously is currently still under construction and has not yet achieved production. The complete integrated upstream and downstream acrylic acid manufacturing chain still needs to wait to the supporting projects to be completed before taking shape.

At this stage, the downstream SAP supporting unit has not yet been put into production simultaneously. In the short term, acrylic acid items are mainly sold externally. If there are fluctuations in the sector market conditions subsequently, there is a possibility that the overall profitability of the project might fall short of expectations.
