Data from Secex indicates that Brazil's corn export pace so far in July 2026 is lagging behind the level seen during the same period last year. From July 1 to 24, Brazil exported 1.35 million tonnes of corn, compared to 2.43 million tonnes in July 2025.
As a major global corn exporter, Brazil's export volume of 1.35 million tonnes to the first 24 days of July 2026 falls far short of the 2.43 million tonnes recorded to the entire month of July 2025. This significant lag in exports implies a contraction in global corn supply, providing support to domestic corn spot prices. Regarding futures, the benchmark corn contract (C2609) on the Dalian Commodity Exchange closed at 2,267 RMB/tonne on July 29, 2026—a slight decline of 4 RMB/tonne—with an open interest of 930,700 lots; this bullish news might drive corn futures prices to trade with greater strength going forward.
