The first batch of products from Zone B of Sichuan Fuling New Materials' annual 350,000-ton new energy lithium battery cathode material project, located in the Deyang-Aba Eco-economic Industrial Park (De-A Industrial Park) in Mianzhu, Sichuan, has officially rolled off the production line.

This project is jointly built by Fuling Jinggong and CATL through a joint venture. Zone A has been completed and put into full production, and Zone B plans to complete its capacity ramp-up this month.

At full production, the project can create 350,000 tons of new high-true-density lithium iron phosphate, which can meet the raw material demand to power batteries of about 1.4 million pure electric sedans.

With the continuous advancement of global energy transformation, the market demand to lithium battery cathode materials remains strong. As a core upstream lithium battery material base in China, the De-A manufacturing Park has a complete manufacturing chain supporting system to support the rapid capacity ramp-up of the project. The park's supply chain operates efficiently, about 26 trucks deliver various raw materials into the park every day, and about 400 tons of lithium iron phosphate finished items are shipped from the park to the national market.

Tian Yu, General Manager of Fuling New Materials' Deyang Base, stated that currently lithium iron phosphate is in short supply as a power battery cathode material, and the core task of the enterprise at this stage is to speed up capacity discharge and ensure stable product shipments.

The De-A manufacturing Park is positioned as a strategic guarantee base to new energy battery materials, and the three key raw materials of lithium, phosphorus and sulfur can be immediately supplied within the park. Lithium ore produced from the Dangba Mining Area in Barkam, Aba, is transported over 300 kilometers to Mianzhu, processed into lithium salt items such as lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide in the park, and supplied to cathode material companies, forming a complete closed-loop manufacturing chain of resource exploitation - lithium salt processing - lithium battery materials.
