Maximum increase of 2500 yuan/ton! New round of price adjustment for Kingfa Science and Technology's modified plastics implemented

Share:

On October 8, domestic leading modified plastics manufacturer Kingfa Science and Technology issued a contact letter to customers today, announcing an increase in the prices of multiple modified plastic products. This round of price adjustment will be implemented starting from new orders received from October 8, 2026.

The company stated that as the geopolitical situation in the Middle East continues to disrupt the market, international oil prices have remained high to a long time, immediately raising the cost of core petrochemical raw materials to modified plastics. Coupled with the simultaneous increase in chemical additives, energy, and production and processing costs, the accumulated cost pressure has exceeded the internal digestion capacity of the enterprise, so this round of price adjustment was initiated.

This price adjustment plan:

Modified PA6 will be increased by 2500 yuan/ton;

Modified PP, modified PE, modified PA66, modified PBT will be increased by 2000 yuan/ton;

Modified ABS, modified PS, modified PC will be increased by 1500 yuan/ton;

Modified PVC will be increased by 1000 yuan/ton.

Multiple price adjustments within the year, the company continues to bear pressure from raw material costs

This is not the first price adjustment Kingfa Science and methodology has made in 2026.

As early as March 2026, Kingfa Science and methodology issued an open letter to customers announcing an increase in the prices of some modified plastic items. At that time, crude oil prices rose rapidly, and the prices of basic resin raw materials such as PP and ABS rose sharply. The company proposed at that time that part of the cost pressure would be absorbed through internal lean regulation, and the remaining cost would need to be shared by downstream customers.

In addition, the company also implemented multiple rounds of price increases to flame-retardant series modified plastic items in 2025. to items such as modified PP, flame-retardant ABS, modified PA, and PBT, the maximum increase was 7000 yuan/ton. The consecutive rounds of price adjustments also reflect that the modified plastics sector has been under continuous cost impact from upstream raw materials since last year.

sector follows up synchronously, domestic and foreign chemical companies have issued price increase letters intensively

This round of price increase is not an isolated action by Kingfa Science and methodology. Domestic and foreign modified plastics and engineering plastic companies have entered a consecutive price adjustment cycle.

International chemical giant BASF announced in August 2026 that it will increase the prices of caprolactam, PA6 and copolyamide items in North America starting from September 1, with an increase of about 176 US dollars/ton. This is also the second time BASF has raised the prices of nylon series items in 2026;

Invista, Toray and other overseas material companies have also issued multiple price adjustment notices this year, covering core raw materials and modified base materials such as hexamethylenediamine, PA66 and PA6, and the prices of the global nylon manufacturing chain have entered an upward channel.

Domestic peer companies have also followed up on cost transmission.

Many domestic modified plastics manufacturers and nylon base material companies have successively issued price adjustment notices. Kanghui New Materials has raised the quotation of modified plastics multiple times this year, and some flame-retardant modified items have a relatively high single price increase;

Wanhua Chemical also raised the prices of PA12 series engineering plastics within the year, with an increase range of 5%-10%.

The price increases of upstream basic resin and additive companies are transmitted downward layer by layer to the modified plastic processing link. The domestic modified plastics sector generally faces the current situation that raw material suppliers continue to squeeze profits.

Price increase logic: High crude oil prices drive up costs across the manufacturing chain

From the perspective of manufacturing chain logic, modified plastics take petrochemical resins such as PP, PE, PA and ABS as basic raw materials, and crude oil price fluctuations immediately determine production costs. In 2026, the repeated disturbances in the Middle East situation have raised shipping risks in the Strait of Hormuz, and the prices of global crude oil and basic chemical items such as naphtha, ethylene and propylene have remained high, driving up the prices of base materials such as PA6, PA66, PC and ABS. At the same time, the costs of chemical additives such as flame retardants and toughening agents, as well as energy such as electricity and steam, have also increased simultaneously. Modified companies belong to the processing link. Under the background of downstream home appliance, automobile and electronic customers pressing prices, they could only rely on compressing their own profits to buffer in the early stage. When the cost pressure breaks through the enterprise's tolerance limit, launching concentrated price increase letters has have become a common choice in the sector.

Outlook: Cost-driven, the game between upstream and downstream will continue

sector analysts pointed out that this round of modified plastic price hike is mainly driven by costs, not driven by a substantial recovery in downstream demand. Automotive lightweight, new energy and home appliances are still the core downstream markets to modified plastics, however the recovery pace of terminal demand is moderate, and downstream customers have limited acceptance of price increases. The subsequent sector price direction will highly depend on changes in international crude oil prices and the prices of core monomers such as caprolactam and hexamethylenediamine. At the same time, it is also necessary to observe the order landing situation of each modified enterprise, and the cost game between upstream and downstream will continue.
