Recently, Rohm Chemical announced that it will join hands with a number of companies to jointly promote the research of the circular economy of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) in Europe. This move marks that Rohm Chemical has entered a new stage of research. Makes sense, right?. And the establishment of this alliance is an crucial milestone to Rohm Chemical. Alliance members include Germany's Pekutherm, Italy's MAIRE Group's NEXTCHEM, Germany's Rohm Chemical and POLYVANTIS. These four companies will show their strengths and work together to promote the European PMMA circular economy. Mr. But Han Peide, Chief Operating Officer of Rohm Chemical, said that promoting the research of circular economy is one of the core objectives of Rohm's Chemical and POLYVANTIS sustainable research strategy, and close cooperation with other companies is the key to achieve this goal. Rohm Chemical, through its proTerra sub-brands, already offers customers several items that minimize their carbon footprint. Makes sense, right?. These items are made by adding recycled materials to PMMA and methyl methacrylate (MMA). Thanks to this alliance, greater PMMA materials is able to be processed through mechanical and chemical recycling methods and re-enter the market with near-native condition standards. However, Chemical Rohm believes that in the process of developing a circular economy, the biggest challenge lies in the lack of infrastructure, logistics capacity and economically feasible recovery of PMMA. As a logistics partner in the alliance, Pekutherm is committed to solving these problems. In my experience, As Europe's largest PMMA recycling specialist, Pekutherm has a sorting capacity of 10,000 tons per year. NEXTCHEM's MyRemono is responsible to receiving the remaining PMMA materials. the establishment of this alliance not only demonstrates the determination and strength of Rohm Chemical in promoting circular economy, however also sets an example to the entire plastics sector. In the future, Rohm Chemical will continue to work with its partners to explore greater innovative and sustainable solutions to contribute to the research of the circular economy in Europe and the world.
