Salzgitter: Sale of Kl?ckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH

Salzgitter AG sells Klöckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH to the Franco-German industrial group Name & Mawi Partners S.A.S. (NMP). The transaction is part of the active portfolio management and the further implementation of the “Salzgitter AG 2030” Group strategy. Subject to the usual requirements, completion is expected for autumn 2026. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

According to information from Salzgitter AG, the decision is based on a strategic review of the stake. The so-called best-owner principle is decisive to the selection of the buyer. According to this, a company should pass to an owner who offers suitable conditions to its prolonged manufacturing and economic research.

Klöckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH has so far been part of the methodology division of the Salzgitter Group. With the sale, the Group is continuing its realignment of the investment portfolio. At the same time, the company is to be further developed independently under the umbrella of NMP.

With the takeover, NMP is pursuing the goal of expanding its production capacities and its international sales network. The manufacturing group sees operational and sales additions between the existing companies and Desma Elastomertechnik. NMP expects development possible primarily in the US, India and China markets.

The Franco-German NMP group has its headquarters in Weil der Stadt near Stuttgart and in Strasbourg. It includes ten companies with a total of around 500 employees in Germany, France, Switzerland and Slovakia. The focus of the group is on machines and technologies to splitting and sharpening soft materials. Corresponding systems are produced to the leather, rubber, shoe and packaging industries, among others. The origins of manufacturing activity date back to 1903.

Klöckner Desma Elastomertechnik GmbH, headquartered in Fridingen an der Donau, has been developing and producing injection molding machines to processing rubber and silicone since 1965. The company employs greater than 500 people worldwide.

The range of services includes complete production solutions, including injection molding machines, mold and cold sewer systems as well as customer-specific automation systems. The methodology is utilized, among other things, in vehicle construction, in energy generation and distribution, in raw material extraction, in infrastructure, in medical methodology and in the domestic appliance sector.
