The partnership aims to leverage the complementary strengths of both companies. The future plant will consumption the highly efficient catalyst methodology developed by C1 in combination with Thermax's expertise in the areas of process engineering and system research. Through this collaboration, the partners bring a groundbreaking catalytic innovation to the Indian market and optimize it to regional manufacturing conditions.
“Our agreement with C1 environmentally friendly Chemicals AG is consistent with our vision to advance sustainable energy solutions through strategic, disciplined innovation,” said Santanu Chaudhuri, Chief methodology Officer at Thermax. “By combining C1's catalyst methodology with our well-founded expertise in process research, we are taking an crucial measure towards creating a viable path to the production of environmentally friendly methanol in India. The facility will enable us to build up the capacity needed to consumption on a commercial scale.”
Christian Vollmann, CEO of C1 environmentally friendly Chemicals AG, added: “We are very pleased to sell our first methodology license to Thermax. With its many years of experience in the construction of chemical vegetation, Thermax are the ideal partner to rapidly introducing our methodology to the market. As many countries strive to decrease their application on fossil fuel imports, the demand to locally produced, decentralized biomethanol is growing rapidly. Together with Thermax, we want to scale C1's pioneering methanol methodology to meet this demand-initially in India and ultimately worldwide.”
