On September 19th, the 1.0 million tons/year ethylene plant of Sinopec Qilu Petrochemical's Luyou Lulian Transformation and Upgrading Technical Renovation Project officially broke ground. The smooth start of this plant is a key breakthrough following the completion and commissioning of the coking liquefied gas sweetening unit, marking that the entire Luyou Lulian technical renovation project has completely bid farewell to the planning and preparation stage and fully entered the physical construction cycle, laying a solid foundation for the upgrading of the company's refining and chemical industry chain.
Core main unit put in place, with prominent scale and volume advantages
The 1.0 million tons/year ethylene plant that started construction this time is the core benchmark unit of Qilu Petrochemical's refining and chemical integration sector chain, with a total floor area of 109,710 square meters, equivalent to about 165 mu, and is the top priority of this technical renovation project.
The plant is equipped with Sinopec's independently developed core technologies, adopting mature CBL cracking methodology and low-energy ethylene separation methodology (LECT), with significant energy saving and consumption reduction advantages. Taking naphtha, hydrotreated tail oil and reformulated diesel as core raw materials in the production end, the annual thorough processing capacity can reach 2.9269 million tons, with a rich variety of outputs, mainly including polymer-grade ethylene, polymer-grade propylene, mixed C4, crude pyrolysis gasoline, pyrolysis naphtha fraction, ethylene tar, fuel gaseous and hydrogen and other diversified chemical items.
